Role Description

This volunteer is part of the team that will prepare the next IDUG Australasia conference. Responsibilities include participation in meetings and organization of the speakers during the year. The workload is not evenly distributed throughout the year. During the grid building process, around the presentation finalization, and before the conference the workload will be greater than the rest of the year. 

Requirements

  • Have attended a couple of IDUG conferences
  • Technical knowledge of Db2 for z/OS, Db2 for LUW, or development with Db2
  • Self-engaged personality
  • Fluent English (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work remotely via email and teleconference

    Role Description

    This committee directs and supports all marketing strategies, concept  and selection of editorial content for all of IDUG’s publications and conference marketing materials. We are seeking a Db2 professional with a background in marketing.

    • Market development, digital marketing, and content marketing experience or ability to learn
    • Understanding of Db2 and related database technologies such as cloud, AI, and machine learning
    • Ability to work remotely via email and teleconference

    RUG Committee

    Role Description

    A primary objective of the RUG Committee is to initiate, formulate, motivate, and facilitate a constructive dialogue from IDUG to the RUGs, from the RUGs to IDUG, and between the RUGs. We are seeking a Db2 professional with a background in RUG activities.

    Requirements

    • Regional User Group involvement, Db2 events participation, awareness of challenges with Db2 education and ability to learn
    • Deep understanding of Db2 and related database technologies such as cloud, AI, and machine learning
    • Ability to work remotely via email and teleconference

    Efforts
    Typically 1-2 hours per week, very flexible

    European Conference Planning Committee

    Time Frame
    Immediate opening, main work beginning mid of January 2024

    Role Description

    The volunteer is in the team to prepare the next IDUG EMEA conference. It includes participation in about two meetings (face to face or virtual) over weekends and organization of the speakers during the year. The workload is unevenly distributed over the year. During the grid building process, around the presentation finalization and before the conference it is more than over the rest of the year. We have regular virtual calls during the early evening. Expect 1-3 hours per week on average.

    Requirements

    • Should have visited a couple of IDUG conferences
    • Technical Knowledge of Db2 for z/OS or Db2 for LUW or Development with Db2
    • Self engaged personality
    • Fluent English (written and verbal)
    • Located in EMEA
    • Ability to work remotely via email and teleconference

      Brasil Conference Planning Committee

      Time Frame

      Role Description
      The Brasilian Conference Planning Committee (CPC) plans, coordinates and facilitates the IDUG DB2 Tech Conference held in Sao Paulo, Brasil. The team member is expected to help with the planning of the conference. This includes helping in any of the CPC teams – Mobile, Web, Marketing, Presentations, Vendor and other Technical team as the need arises during the year. The team member is also expected to take part in the abstract voting process before the conference and be involved in Thread duties (managing the sessions, speakers etc) before and during the conference.

      Requirements

      • Team player who can contribute fresh ideas to improving the conference experience for attendees
      • Able to work in the different CPC teams as required
      • Fluent English is a plus (written and verbal)
      • Located in Brasil

      Efforts

      • Typically 1 - 5 hours / week throughout the year
      • More effort may be required at times
      • Attend monthly CPC conference calls and provide onsite support for the conference
